Mu Koh Surin National Park:
A Pristine Marine Paradise

Mu Koh Surin National Park is often hailed as Thailand's most beautiful marine park, thanks to its well-preserved ecosystem both on land and underwater. Located in Phang Nga Province, the park comprises five stunning islands, each offering unparalleled natural beauty and thriving marine biodiversity. These islands remain pristine due to their remote location and limited tourist access, making them a perfect destination for those who love nature, tranquility, and exploration.

The park’s unique terrain sits within a large bay, providing excellent shelter from wind and waves throughout both the summer and rainy seasons. It is home to Thailand's largest and most abundant shallow-water coral reefs, making it a haven for snorkelers and divers eager to witness vibrant coral gardens, clear turquoise waters, and diverse marine life.

The five islands that make up Mu Koh Surin National Park are:

  • Ko South Surin Island
  • Ko North Surin Island
  • Ko Khai (Torinlar) Island
  • Ko Klang (Pajumba) Island
  • Ko Ree (Stock) Island

Adding to its charm, the park is also home to the Moken people, often referred to as the "Sea Gypsies." This is one of the last groups maintaining their traditional culture and way of life, offering visitors a glimpse into a unique and timeless coastal community.

What makes Mu Koh Surin National Park truly special is its secluded nature. The islands' distance from the mainland ensures the purity of the environment remains nearly untouched, with the ecosystem thriving at almost 100% natural integrity. The limited number of visitors allowed to explore this park preserves its peaceful and pristine charm, making it an ideal choice for travelers who appreciate discovering new places, unspoiled beauty, and a break from the crowds.

If you are someone who loves serene, natural settings and enjoys uncovering hidden treasures while relaxing amidst spectacular scenery, Jc.Tour highly recommends exploring the next travel program to Mu Koh Surin National Park for an unforgettable experience.

One of the most significant and fascinating highlights of Mu Koh Surin National Park is the Moken Village, located on Ko Surin Island. The Moken, often referred to as "Sea Gypsies," are a nomadic tribe that originally sailed from the Burmese islands, bringing with them a rich and unique way of life. Over time, they established a small yet resilient village on one of the park's most beautiful beaches, where they continue to preserve their traditional culture and connection to the sea.

Visiting the Moken village provides a rare opportunity to learn about their ancient traditions, daily routines, and their deep knowledge of the ocean, which has allowed them to survive in harmony with nature for generations. The Moken people still rely on fishing, boat-building, and foraging, using methods passed down through centuries. Their stilted homes, handmade wooden boats, and simple way of living reflect a lifestyle untouched by modern development.

When exploring Mu Koh Surin National Park, the Moken village is considered one of the key highlights and an essential part of the journey. It’s not just about witnessing the stunning landscapes but also about connecting with the cultural heritage of the last remaining Sea Gypsies, making your trip to Surin Islands a truly enriching and unforgettable experience.
