Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall

Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall is one of Thailand's most remarkable natural treasures, hidden deep within Srinakarin National Park in Si Sawat District, Kanchanaburi Province. Located on the eastern side of the vast Srinakarin Reservoir, approximately 108 kilometers from Kanchanaburi Town, the waterfall is fed by Huai Mae Khamin, a mountain stream originating in the pristine forests of the Tenasserim Range along Thailand's western frontier. Over thousands of years, the flowing water has gradually carved its way through layers of limestone, creating a series of elegant cascades, tranquil emerald pools, and sculpted rock terraces. The result is a magnificent seven-tier waterfall surrounded by one of the most intact evergreen forests in western Thailand.
Unlike many waterfalls where the destination is a single dramatic viewpoint, Huai Mae Khamin unfolds gradually. Each of its seven levels—Dong Wan, Man Khamin, Wang Na Pha, Chat Kaeo, Lai Chon Long, Dong Phi Suea, and Rom Klao—offers its own distinctive landscape and atmosphere. Some tiers feature broad limestone curtains where crystal-clear water gently flows across smooth rock formations, while others reveal peaceful natural pools shaded by towering trees. Walking between the different levels is as rewarding as reaching them, allowing visitors to experience changing forest ecosystems, limestone geology, and the quiet rhythm of an ancient watershed that has shaped this landscape for centuries.
Huai Mae Khamin flows throughout the year, although its character changes with the seasons. After the rainy months, the waterfall reaches its fullest strength, surrounded by lush tropical greenery. During the drier season, the water becomes exceptionally clear, revealing the pale limestone beneath the pools and highlighting the remarkable clarity for which the waterfall is renowned. Visitors are encouraged to allow at least half a day to explore the entire trail, wear suitable walking shoes, and take time to appreciate each level rather than rushing to the highest point. For JC Tour, Huai Mae Khamin is far more than a beautiful waterfall—it is an exceptional example of Thailand's living natural heritage, where forests, limestone, mountain streams, and time have quietly worked together to create one of the country's most unforgettable landscapes.
