The temple’s principal landmark is Phra Mahathat Chedi Phakdi Prakat, built through the collective efforts of the people of Bang Saphan to honour the 50th anniversary of King Rama IX’s accession to the throne. Its multiple spires and intricate Thai architectural details give the complex a graceful presence. Inside, Buddha images and spaces for worship reflect the community’s faith and its enduring connection with the monarchy.
Khao Thong Chai is also home to Phra Phuttha Kitti Sirichai, a large Buddha image facing the sea.
